Even though they’ll inevitably be replaced by adult teeth, you should help your child take good care of their baby teeth. They’re crucial for chewing, speaking, and (our favorite) smiling. They also create space for adult teeth, so having healthy baby teeth will allow for permanent teeth to come in straighter. In extreme cases, poor dental hygiene can lead to infection and disease — we don’t mean to scare you, we just want to hit home that proper dental care is necessary at all ages.
